The Jets agreed to a one-year deal with Bills running back Frank Gore, according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus. Gore, who turns 37, is entering his 16th NFL season and is No. 3 all-time in rushing yards in NFL history.
Gore gives the Jets an established backup behind Le’Veon Bell and a solid presence in the locker room. Gore is simply one of the most respected players in the NFL, looked up to by Adams and countless other young players.
Coach Adam Gase is a huge fan of Gore and was the driving force behind the Jets signing him. Gase coached Gore in two previous stints –—in 2008 with the 49ers when Gase was an assistant and in 2018 when Gase was the Dolphins’ head coach.
Gore has rushed for 15,347 yards in his career, which began in 2005. Only Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton have rushed for more yards. Gore had 166 carries for 599 yards and two touchdowns for the Bills last season.
