When will Saquon Barkley be back with the Giants?
Barkley is dealing with a high ankle sprain and was initially expected to be out six to eight weeks. He was injured in the second quarter of the Sept. 22 victory in Tampa. It looks as if he is ahead of schedule, based on what can be ascertained by the way he looked on Wednesday.
The sight of Barkley in uniform (okay, no shoulder pads) jogging and doing some fairly aggressive straight-line cuts on the side was enough to lift the spirits of the Giants. Clearly, he is on the mend. It remains to be seen how his right ankle responds to this activity.
“Some people’s doctors had him at eight weeks. Not my doctors,” Pat Shurmur said Wednesday.
