Dolphins Crush Hapless Jets

On a cold and cloudy day in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the Jets lost to the Miami Dolphins, 34 – 10 for their 10th loss of the season.

The first half saw the Jets defense annihilated. The Dolphins moved the ball at will early in the game as they scored touchdowns on each of their first three possessions. Before the first quarter ended the Jets found themselves staring down the barrel of a 21 – 0 deficit.

Isaiah Williams briefly gave the Jets hope with a 78 yard punt return to cut the Dolphins lead to 21 – 7. It was the lone bright spot for the Jets.

Jets QB Tyrod Taylor left the game with an injury, replaced under center by undrafted rookie Brady Cook.

The Dolphins took over and Jaylen Wright led a long, run-dominated, clock chewing drive. Ollie Gordon slammed the ball into the end zone. With a little more than six minutes remaining in the game the Dolphins put it away. At 31 – 10, the rest of the game was garbage time.

Old friend Zach Wilson came on in mop up duty for the Dolphins. It was his first appearance in an NFL game since he left the Jets. Wilson led a late field goal drive to add insult to injury and bring the final score to 34 – 10.

The Jets drop to 3-10 on the season. Now the Jets prepare to go on the road to face the Jacksonville Jaguars next week.
