Giants Get First Win, Beat Saints In Overtime, 27-21

The Giants finally won a game. And they did it in wholly unexpected fashion.

When Saquon Barkley crashed into the end zone from 6 yards out, the Giants had a 27-21 overtime victory Sunday over the Saints and, in an instant, the packed crowd inside Caesars Superdome, so raucous earlier, could barely be heard.

“The stadium was rocking, and for us to get that win, not give their offense the ball back, for us to go down in overtime and score right away, you could hear a pin drop,’’ receiver Kenny Golladay said.

QB Daniel Jones (28 of 40, 402 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT) had a great day.

Still, even after Sunday’s win, New York remains alone at the bottom of the NFC East standings at 1-3 yet they can take a sigh of relief. They won a hard-fought game they didn’t necessarily deserve to win. That’s the beauty of the NFL.
