Jets To Start QB Joe Flacco Sunday vs Cardinals

Sitting at 0-4 on the season, the New York Jets are the worst team in the NFL at the quarter pole. They are averaging a mere 16 points per game and are being outscored by north of 16 points per game.

And while head coach Adam Gase was brought over to foster the growth of young QB Sam Darnold, he has struggled a great deal thus far this season. Darnold suffered an AC sprain in his non-throwing shoulder last week and he is expected to miss this weekend’s game vs the Cardinals.

35-year-old Joe Flacco—who has not started a game since he was a member of the Denver Broncos in the middle of last season—will get the nod as QB.

Flacco is a 13 year veteran who’s started 171 regular-season games, won 98 of them, thrown 218 touchdown passes and for more than 40,000 yards.

The hope is that Flacco, who’s highly motivated and hungry to resurrect his career as a starter, offering his veteran presence and strong arm can spark what has been a too-conservative, sputtering offense that has scored 17, 13, 7 and 28 points in four games.
